3 days in Mt Fuji
Hi friends! Got another vlog ep for you - this time we head to Mt Fuji for the weekend to chase some Autumn colours (with Fooj in the back obviously). If you have never been to Mt Fuji, be warned that depending on the time of year, it might not always be visible. It is kind of crazy thinking about how huge the mountain is and how it can just hide from you so easily in the clouds. I was once told by a tour guide that Mt Fuji is female because she likes to hide from you and will only appear if you are nice.
My best advice is to go during winter months (Nov-Feb) as it is most likely to be visible then. If this is not possible, then maybe spending a few more days there just to increase your chances. When you’re there, best to get up early for sunrise as it is also more likely to be visible in the early morning. And - if you’ve watched my vlog linked above, you’ll know that the weather can change 10 times throughout the day so just always be ready and keep your eye on it.
To be totally honest, The Mt Fuji area (Fujiyoshida) has a nice lake (Kawaguchiko), but other than that the town itself is quite dead and there isn’t too much to do. There are also limited food options there as it is a smaller town. Anyway here are some pics from the trip and episode (watch the vlog!!).
